Frugal Fashionista Clothing Swap™ Blog

I have some pretty exciting news for you ladies!!!

During my quest for finding raffle prizes to raise money for RAINN (Rape, Abuse & Incest National Network), I came across a wonderful woman named Kei-Hawk Rose, a tea alchemist, who owns a shop called Desert Sage Natural. She blends teas for all sorts of occasions and came up with the idea of a tea blend specifically blended for victims of domestic abuse!

She has been working on it for months and today I received the first package of what she calls “I WILL SURVIVE” tea blend. How fitting and appropriate! She sent 40 samples in sweet little tins and a larger canister to be used as a raffle prize! What’s even better is that a portion of the sales from THIS particular tea will be donated DIRECTLY to RAINN (Rape, Abuse & Incest National Network)!!!

How great is that?!?!?!?!

So, come to the April 26th clothing swap to be there for the “launch” of this special tea blend for survivors~ She will be launching the tea online at her shop so that it corresponds to our launch date at the clothing swap!

Thank you so much Kei-Hawk Rose! This is really an amazing thing to be a part of!

Check out all of her tea creations at the sites listed below:)

The Bravelets™ Story:

Mom and me – wearing our braves

I will never forget the day my mom told me she had breast cancer. When I heard the news I held back tears, and tried to sound calm. I knew that I needed to be brave for my Mom. She was trying to be brave for me and my sister, as she didn’t want us to worry. We were trying to be brave for her. Out of this process, Bravelets™ was born.

I wanted to make something that my sister, my mom, my dad and I could all wear in the weeks leading up to her Mastectomy – a symbol that we could all look at and remember to be brave.

There are times in all of our lives where we need to be brave – whether for ourselves, for our family, for our friends, or even for a complete stranger. Bravelets™ bracelets are more than just something to wear on your wrist. They are a symbol of hope, strength and courage. They are designed to help you be brave in the toughest of times.

Why the Triangle?

The triangle is the strongest geometric shape. Bravelets™ bracelets are worn to help you be strong and brave in tough situations. Therefore, Bravelets™ and triangles are a perfect pair. The triangle is incorporated not only in the Bravelets logo, but also in every item’s single design. Plain and simple, the triangle represents strength, just like Bravelets™.

Our Giving – Upfront and Honest

Bravelets™ is not a non-profit organization. We are a for-profit company with giving at our core. We believe in transparency. We believe in making a difference. We don’t believe in the phrase “a portion of proceeds will be donated….” What does that mean? Is a portion $.01? Is a portion 1%? That kind of giving is confusing and un-fulfilling to the purchaser. We want you to feel good about your purchase. We want you to know, when you look down at your wrist, that $10 was donated to your cause. We want you to know that you helped make a difference.

So now you know a little bit about Bravelets and are hopefully interested in purchasing a piece of bravelets jewelry for yourself or a loved one!

As you know, the Frugal Fashionista Clothing Swap supports Domestic Violence Awareness and we raise funds for RAINN (Rape, Abuse & Incest National Network) We also support local military veterans groups through All Media Linked and “Vets Group”.

Our main colors are purple, violet and black so if you go to our site, all of the jewelry will be in those colors.

$10 from EVERY sale is donated to RAINN if you order from our page – which is HUGE! It’s a very measurable way to see where your hard earned dollars are going!

I ordered my first bravelet last week – here is what mine looks like:

Be Brave and show your support for the causes YOU believe in!

Join me in showing the world, that you too, are “BRAVE”.

“Promise me you’ll always remember: You’re braver than you believe, and stronger than you seem, and smarter than you think.”
